Oops...It's been more than a little while

I've been quite the slacker when it comes to scrapbooking this summer, and even more so in regards to blogging. Oh well, summer vacation is almost over and I guess I'll be back to my regular schedule pretty quick. Plus, with school starting up again in two weeks I'm sure I'll be scrappipng lot's as I usually tend to scrap when I'm supposed to be doing homework.

Anyways, I actually just got back from my wonderful California road trip late last night. It's taken me all day to accomplish the smallest tasks. I've been gone so long I feel like I don't know how to focus on anything anymore. But, I did create a really cute mini album for my good friend Jill earlier this month and I wanted to post the pictures of it. I've got to come up with some material for October classes so there should be some more new posts and pics coming up! I'm sad that my road trip is over, but happy to be home and looking forward to getting started on some of the many projects that I've been planning for so long.

Anyways, I'll be back again soon with something new (I promise) and until then here of the pics of the album I created for Jill:

So Cute!!! I wish I had more of this paper so that I could make one for me. Oh well, she gets the only copy.

Finally, a post!!!

I finished this project last week, but haven't been able to get the photos up till now. I took them on my parents new, AMAZING camera. I love it and totally want one. My camera is total crap and I never take photos with it. Kinda stupid considering that I love scrapbooking. I have no photos to work with! I'm seriously thinking about getting one. It's not too expensive and takes beautiful photos.

Hmm...anyways, I made this album for my boss at work. She's been the principal at the school I work at since I was in grade two and now, after twenty years there, she's retiring. She's been an amazing support to me over the years and has played a big role in my own path to teaching. Anyways, I'm very thankful for her support and motivation so I wanted to make something special for her. She loves purple, so here it is...(by the way, it's huge)...

See! Gorgeous, but huge. I warned you.

Okay, I have another new post with photos of my August class coming up BUT, I'm getting up very early in the morning to go camping so I will post it when I get back.

See ya!

I love it!!!

New Projects...Finally!

So, Life's been pretty busy lately and an unfortunate by-product of that has been that I haven't really had the time/energy to scrapbook at all. Between school, work, and all the extra tutoring I've been doing I haven't allowed myself to be distracted by scrapbooking. Ugh. Being responsible sucks.

Anyways, I've spent pretty much all of my spare time over the last two weeks working on school stuff and it's been starting to get to me. So, tonight when I needed a break from reading Paulo Friere's Pedagogy of the Oppressed (have I said 'ugh' yet? I can't wait to be a teacher, but, seriously, this stuff is killing me), I decided to cheer myself up by making a little flip book of some of the things that make me happy. I figured it might come in handy over the next month as I try to keep my stress level to a minimum.

So, several hours later I've created this extra cute mini album '10 reasons to smile.' I love it!!! I'm wondering if I can make it into a class...I made it from all the scraps I had lying around from old projects, but I think I could fairly easily throw something together for a class. I'm not quite finished yet, 'cause I need to pick up some more lettering, but I'm pretty happy with how far along I got tonight! Hopefully I can finish it up tomorrow, so stay tune for the final picks, but until then you can check out what I accomplished so far.
